Andor is coming to save the Rebellion. Disney+ has given Star Wars the ability to tell a greater number of stories. Firstly, they covered new characters like The Mandalorian and Grogu. And now they are going back to tell stories of previously established characters. Such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka, or slightly lesser-known characters like Cassian Andor, the rebel spy.

Andor covers the origin of Cassian Andor from Rogue One. The show will also give audiences a taste of the early days of the Rebellion. The period has been covered in games and animated shows but this is the first time it will be shown in live action. The show stars Diego Luna in the titular role, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Jones, Denise Gough, and Kyle Soller. Fans have been eagerly waiting to know when the show will release. And Lucasfilm has finally revealed that information.

Andor To Premiere On August 31 With 2 Episodes

Today at Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm announced that Andor will premiere on August 31. Additionally, the show will have a two-episode debut similar to Obi-Wan Kenobi, Hawkeye, and WandaVision. This news comes after Lucasfilm revealed the first teaser and poster for the show.

This is awesome news. It means fans will not have to wait long for their next dose of Star Wars after Obi-Wan Kenobi ends in June. Also, a two-episode premiere will really give a good idea of what the show is like. That will certainly make it easier for fans to decide if they want to commit to watching the full 12-episode season.
