Ms. Marvel is fast approaching. Thanks to Disney+, the MCU is getting much bigger and much faster. The Disney+ shows have introduced a breadth of new fan-favorite characters. Such as Agatha, Sylvie, and Kate Bishop. But the MCU shows have mostly focused on pre-existing characters with newer characters left to the side. However, that changed with Moon Knight which focused only on new characters. And that trend continues with Ms. Marvel.
Ms. Marvel follows Muslim teenager and superhero superfan, Kamala Khan as she gets superpowers of her own. While we don’t know much about the actual plot, we do have a decent bit of behind-the-scenes knowledge. For instance, Kamala Khan will be played by newcomer Iman Vellani. Secondly, Bisha K. Ali, who previously worked on Loki, is the head writer for the series. And now we know who is composing the show’s score.
Laura Karpman To Compose Ms. Marvel Score
Variety reports that Laura Karpman is composing the score for Ms. Marvel. Karpman previously composed the score for What If and will be composing the score for The Marvels. Karpman also composed the Lovecraft Country score.
This is great news, as one of the best parts of What If…? is the score. Especially, in the Doctor Strange episode. No doubt, Karpman will create a great and unique theme for Kamala. Even better, is that Karpman is also scoring The Marvels, which means Kamala’s theme will be consistent in both projects. Given that musical consistency is something the MCU struggles with, it is nice to have the same composer for two projects involving the same character.
