Dune: Part Two is going to be big. Dune follows Paul Atreides and his adventures on the desert planet of Arrakis. The first movie was a bit of surprise hit. The movie grossed $400 million worldwide and was critically acclaimed (you can read our review here). It even went on to win several Oscars. The sequel is no doubt one of the most anticipated films in Hollywood.
Dune: Part Two was announced quickly after the release of the first. The movie will cover the second half of the book. Most of the cast from the first film is returning. Additionally, some new cast members have been announced. Such as Florence Pugh who is playing Princess Irulan. To clarify, Irulan is the daughter of the Emperor. The Emperor is a key role yet to be cast. That is until now.
Christopher Walken Is The Emperor In Dune: Part Two
The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Christopher Walken has been cast as Emperor Shaddam IV. For those that don’t know, the Emperor is a key role. He’s is responsible for the events of the first film, and is the orchestrator of the entire war. However, he was only referenced and not seen on screen.
Dune: Part Two already has a star-studded cast and this only adds to it. While Walken is a pretty unique actor he always gives great performances. Even more exciting will be seeing Florence Pugh and Walken act together on screen. Since Pugh will be playing his daughter they no doubt will have a lot of screen time together. Both of these actors are fantastic so it will be a delight to see them work together.
