The Percy Jackson cast just got bigger. The Percy Jackson franchise is one of the best young adult book franchises out there. The franchise follows Percy Jackson, the demigod son of Poseidon, on his quest to save the world. While the books have been very successful the live action adaptations have struggled. The two live action movies were not good adaptations of the books and fans have been waiting for a faithful adaptation ever since.
Earlier this year, Disney ordered a new live-action Percy Jackson series for Disney+. Unlike the previous adaptations, Rick Riordan, the author of the books, is involved. This will give the series an authenticity that was missing in the previous version. Last month, Walker Scobell was cast as the lead. And now, the rest of the main cast has been found.
Leah Sava Jeffries And Aryan Simhadri Join Percy Jackson Cast
Variety is reporting that Leah Sava Jeffries has been cast as Annabeth. Additionally, Aryan Simhadri has been cast as Grover. Both Annabeth and Grover are important in the Percy Jackson franchise. Annabeth is the daughter of Athena and Percy’s love interest. Grover is a satyr and Percy’s best friend. Also, the show is starting production this summer.
This is really exciting news. Both of these actors seem like great fits for the show. And it is always important to give new and diverse voices a chance. Plus, all these actors are young enough that they can age with the roles just like in the books. Hopefully, the first season is successful enough that we can see all the books adapted later.
