Avatar 2 has its title and trailer, and they both follow the way of water.
Disney debuted the first trailer for the long-awaited Avatar: The Way of Water to theater owners and press at CinemaCon. Fans of the franchise have long been waiting for even a glimpse of footage from the Avatar sequel ever since the first premiered all the way back in 2009. The sequel was originally slated for a 2014 release, but was moved forward to allow for technology to be further developed for better underwater filming. Along with the first trailer, the long-anticipated title was also revealed. The film will finally arrive in theaters on December 16. Primarily, Disney has now, for the first time ever, screened footage from the film to outsiders.
Last month, rumors circulated that the trailer would be attached to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Now, those rumors have been confirmed. Unfortunately, however, the trailer will not be posted online until a week after Doctor Strange‘s release, allowing it to be experienced in theaters first. Social media reactions for the trailer have just hit the internet, straight from CinemaCon! Attendees are saying it’s visually stunning, has a powerful score, and is great in 3D. The film is set to arrive in theaters on December 16, 2022. Here’s a set of social media reactions for the new footage displayed at CinemaCon.
