Echo fans, you’re about to meet the Devil.
With the MCU’s first series of 2022 (Moon Knight) more than halfway through its first season, there is still much more to come to Disney+ this year. Marvel Studios is constantly working on and filming projects. Last year, with the release of five series produced by Marvel, Disney+ has become a fantastic way to bridge the gap between movies in the MCU, as well as shine a light on many of the studio’s smaller but dynamic characters – a feat they attempted years ago through other platforms.
One of Marvel’s most successful projects was Netflix’s Daredevil. The show followed Matt Murdock, blind lawyer by day and hero of Hell’s Kitchen by night as he battled ninjas, supervillains, and his greatest enemy, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin. Daredevil was a success that garnered three seasons and inspired further Marvel shows. Fans have speculated for years whether or not Daredevil and/or Kingpin would pop up in the MCU after the series ended.
Daredevil In Echo?
A recent circulating rumor may answer some of that speculation. Last year, Disney confirmed that Cox’s Maya Lopez would receive her own show, titled Echo. The series is currently filming. Daniel Richtman shared with his Patreon supporters that Cox would be on the set for Echo. No further details were released about Cox on set and in what capacity he will be involved in the series.
Daredevil is deeply tied to Echo in the comics, so it would make sense for him to be part of our conflicted hero’s story, considering their close connections to Kingpin. As wonderful as it was to see Matt Murdock in No Way Home last year, we would love to see him fully join the MCU and to don his costume. Perhaps there will be some yellow in his suit? We will have to wait and see just how involved with Echo he will be.
