Cheer for the Venom 3 fans!
The Sony Spider-Man Universe is a mess. Let’s face it: Sony has not shown it has the capabilities to run an interconnected cinematic universe. Even with a boatload of help from Marvel Studios, they fumble. Morbius, Venom, and Venom: Let There Be Carnage have all been critical failures. However, that hasn’t stopped Sony from announcing new films, such as Madame Web and El Muerto. And, a new Venom.
Venom 3 has been highly anticipated, yet for no reason. The film’s predecessors had challenges with both audiences and critics. Tom Hardy is a fan-favorite in the role of Venom, but for some reason the writing just isn’t good. It never has been. Yet anything affiliated with Spider-Man will make money, so Sony keeps on rolling these films off the assembly line.
Venom 3 In Development
At Sony’s CinemaCon 2022 panel, a sizzle reel was presented of upcoming Sony films for the next few years. Among that reel, Venom 3. A sequel was all but inevitable after Hardy showed up in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Venom is hugely popular character and fans would love to see the character share a screen with any of the Spider-Man actors. With no other information, there will of course be many rumors to fly. Venom would be a great character to see at the forefront of Sony’s Spider-Verse that they are piecing together. We’ll just have to wait and see.
