Thor: Love and Thunder fans, you’ll love this.
The much awaited first trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder was finally released a little more than 24 hours ago. The film is set to hit theaters July 8, and finds Thor on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. At least that’s what the synopsis says. The….quadruquel (?) has been highly anticipated for a very long time, and we finally have a look at it.
This trailer is the first time a first trailer has been released this close to release for an MCU film. A poster and synopsis were also released alongside it. The trailer gave us our first look at Thor’s new look after he got drunk in Avengers: Endgame. We get to see Thor hang out with the Guardians and an amazing look at Natalie Portman’s Mighty Thor. Recently, Marvel revealed that the trailer managed to rack up an insane amount of views in its first 24 hours.
Thor: Love And Thunder Breaks Trailer Records
The trailer managed to gain 209 million views in its first 24 hours online across all platforms. This is an astonishing number. That more than doubles the previous 2022 record, set by Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness, which gained 93 million viewers. However, it’s important to note that its trailer was released at the Super Bowl. Therefore, it gains all the viewership from those watching the Super Bowl. Compared to other MCU films, the trailer comes in as the 4th most viewed MCU trailer in its first 24 hours. Coming in just behind Spider-Man: No Way Home, and following Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, it also comes in as the 7th overall for all trailers.

A big reason for these high numbers is the amount we were made to wait for this trailer. The trailer came just 81 days before the film’s release. That’s the most Marvel has ever made us wait for a trailer beating 2008’s The Incredible Hulk by 12 days which came out 93 days before release. Fans have eagerly been waiting every Monday at 9 am since way back in February for a possible trailer release. This trailer was an amazing teaser for the film, as it gave us the tone of the film. However, it refrained from revealing too much. The trailer still did give fans a great look at Thor’s new look, the Guardians and Mighty Thor so the high views were definitely warranted.
