Doctor Strange 2 is going to be massive.
The MCU has slowly been expanding its magical boundaries. First, with Doctor Strange back in 2017. Then with little bits and pieces across other films. The first real big exploration of magic since Doctor Strange was the tv show WandaVision which really explored Wanda Maximoff’s magical background. Now, we are going to really dive into the MCU’s magic world with Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness.
Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness will follow Doctor Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, as he explores and combats threats from the multiverse. Also joining him on this adventure is Scarlet Witch aka Wanda Maximoff, who is portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen. Ever since the film was announced, it has been known that Wanda will be playing an important part in the film. But now we have a better idea of just how big her role might be.
In a recent tweet, insider Daniel Richtman said “Doctor Strange 2 is as much about Wanda as it is about Strange,”. You can see the full unedited tweet below.
He added that “[Wanda has] almost as much screentime as Strange too,”.
The news is very exciting. Wanda has gained a lot of popularity since WandaVision was released. So getting to see her in a larger role will be nice. Presumably, she will be more of a co-lead or even the villain in the film and not just a major supporting character. Hopefully, we get to see some of the plot points from WandaVision wrapped up in a meaningful and well-done way. Also, it will just be plain cool to see the two biggest magic users in the MCU have big character arcs in the same film.
