Obi-Wan Kenobi is set to be huge for Disney+.

The world of Star Wars produced so many amazing characters and amazing moments within its galaxy that spans hundreds of years. This has given opportunity for tons of content to be created within its world. The Mandalorian and Rogue One are perfect examples that Star Wars has more to offer than the stories of the original main characters, while still incorporating them and major storylines. The interwoven nature of Star Wars has offered a chance for fans to see the universe expanded and the ability for new shows to be created.

Disney+ will be premiering Obi-Wan Kenobi in late May. It will be the first time we have seen a Live action Obi-Wan since 2005’s Revenge of the Sith. Arguably, Kenobi is one of the most important figures in the Star Wars universe and overdue for return with Ewan McGregor back to play him. This series is set at a time that offers a huge opportunity for many cameos and easter eggs that would make sense to the story. Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader is one that we can expect to see. However, it’s unknown the extent of his role.

Obi-Wan Actor Rupert Friend Teases Cameos In Series

Rupert Friend recently sat down with HeyUGuys. He talked about Obi-Wan, and had this to say about possible cameos and easter eggs:

If it’s possible to be any more excited than folks already are, I would be. I think [the series] is one of the most thrilling additions to the Star Wars canon. I think Ewan McGregor is doing things with that role that is a dream for fans of the original films. You know, we can’t obviously have Alec Guinness back, but I just think Ewan was absolutely born to play that part. And wonderful cameos from people I obviously can’t tell you, but Easter eggs galore… Yeah, it’s a thrilling ride.

Rupert Friend on Obi-Wan Kenobi

One thing that the Star Wars universe has always been good for easter eggs and callbacks. With these recent comments, Star Wars fans can probably count on seeing familiar faces. Obi-Wan Kenobi is set in the perfect era for us to see many characters from the prequels. However, the other series and books within canon are all major possibilities as well. Personally, my hope is to see Qui-Gon show up at some point.
