The MCU continues to expand on Disney+, now with Ironheart. Disney has been hugely successful by introducing a plethora of characters from the comics. Especially ones that audiences have yearned to see in live action. Disney+ has been on a roll with hit shows from Marvel Studios like WandaVision, Loki, Moon Knight, and more.

Ironheart was confirmed to be in development by Kevin Feige at Disney Investor Day 2020 with Dominique Thorne set to play the titular character. The show follows genius inventor Riri Williams, studying at MIT. Chinaka Hodge signed on as head writer in April 2021. Filming will begin in June 2022 in Atlanta at Pinewood Studios. No supporting cast has been revealed yet, but with this new announcement, those will come out soon.

Ironheart Disney+ Series Finds Directors

Earlier today The Hollywood Reporter reported that Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes have been appointed as the directors for the show. Bailey will direct the first three episodes, while Barnes will helm episodes four through six. The report also states that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever director Ryan Coogler and his production company, Proximity Media, will be part of the creative team for the show. Coogler and his company will be executive producers on the series.

Ironheart is a very interesting character. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will bring the character to the screen. Ironheart will be a continuation of that storyline, presumably. Riri Williams can carry the legacy of Tony Stark, while building her own legacy as the MCU continues to expand. She built her Iron Man suit in an MIT lab, while Stark built his in a cave with scraps. Which one is more impressive? Up to you to decide.
