The Suicide Squad and Black Adam fans, we got some great news for you.
EXCLUSIVE: Cinema Reviewed is proud to report that Jennifer Holland is set to reprise her role in Black Adam. Holland will return as Emilia Harcourt, an NSA agent who worked under Amanda Waller. It’s unclear the extent of Holland’s role in the origin film, but we hear that the events of Peacemaker will lead into her involvement in this film.
Jaume Collet-Serra’s origin story centers on Teth-Adam/Black Adam (Dwyane Johnson). He is an anti-hero from Kahndaq. Teth-Adam was imprisoned for 5000 years there, and he received his powers from a wizard. We first met the wizard in 2019’s Shazam!, as this film is a spinoff. The anti-hero is rumored to become the enemy of Shazam.
The film currently features Dwyane Johnson as the title character, Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, Sarah Shahi, Quintessa Swindell, and Pierce Brosnan. The film is set for public release on July 29, 2022. The preceding DC films are The Batman, set for release on March 4, and DC’s League of Super-Pets, on May 20. Following the film are The Flash on November 4 and Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom on December 16.
When reached for comment, reps for Holland and Warner Bros. declined to comment. Holland is repped by CAA and Atlas Artists. Black Adam releases exclusively in theaters on July 29, 2022. The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, and is produced by DC Entertainment and WarnerMedia.
