Pacific Rim 2 star Ivanna Sakhno has been added to the cast of Star Wars: Ahsoka.

When Rosario Dawson was first reported by the trades to appear in The Mandalorian season 2 as Ahsoka Tano, many Star Wars fans didn’t believe it. They never thought that Lucasfilm would bring Ahsoka to live-action. The idea seemed too good to be true. A year later, Ahsoka Tano appeared in Chapter 13, and fans around the globe erupted. There were clamors worldwide for a Star Wars project centered around the character. On December 10, 2020, it finally happened.

At Disney Investor Day 2020, Ahsoka was announced to debut on Disney+ in 2023, as one of the streaming service’s many original series. Fans were curious when the series would take place, who would appear, to name a few. Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger were among the most talked about, as well as Sabine Wren (who has been confirmed to appear). Mena Massoud has added to these rumors, hinting a secret Star Wars role, many have speculated it could be Bridger.

One thing’s for sure though. Ivanna Sakhno has joined Ahsoka.

This is great news for the development of Star Wars: Ahsoka, as it shows strong development for the project. Some have recently been worried that the project may have been shelved, among developments that Star Wars: Rangers of the New Republic has been cancelled at Lucasfilm/Disney, but this newest casting announcement all but confirms that this project is still of high importance to Lucasfilm executives.
