Last December, Kevin Feige revealed the upcoming slate for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans were treated to trailers of WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, and What If…?. They were also treated to a short sizzle of Ms. Marvel. Release dates were shown, and new films and series added to the list. Among them was Armor Wars, headlined by Don Cheadle.
Now, we here at Cinema Reviewed can exclusively confirm that Don Cheadle will also serve as an executive producer on Armor Wars, in addition to portraying James Rhodes/War Machine. This is the third time an actor will be serving as an EP while headlining the project in the MCU. Before Cheadle, Tom Hiddleston (Loki), and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) served in that role.
The official Armor Wars synopsis reads: “Don Cheadle returns as James Rhodes aka War Machine in Armor Wars, an Original Series coming to Disney+. A classic Marvel story about Tony Stark’s worst fear coming true: what happens when his tech falls into the wrong hands?” Rumored villains include Sharon Carter, Justin Hammer, and John Walker.
Armor Wars releases on Disney+ in 2022-2023.
