JUST IN: Marvel Studios has officially greenlight Loki for a Season 2. The highly anticipated finale to the series’ Season 1 aired this morning, and at the mid-credits point, fans got a rubber stamp confirming Season 2, as shown below.
Neither WandaVision nor The Falcon and the Winter Soldier received any kind of treatment indicating future seasons, and this makes sense, given that the former is set to lead into Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, while the latter plays into the currently untitled sequel to Captain America: Civil War.
Per a recent report by The Hollywood Reporter, it also seems that Tom Hiddleston will reprise his role as Loki in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Which version of Loki remains to be seen, however. It’s assumed to be the Variant Loki that headlined the first season of the series, but it’s all still guesswork.
Reprising their roles in Season 2 include Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie, Owen Wilson as Mobius, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15, and Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror. Kate Herron is expected to return to direct the next 6-episode season, and Michael Waldron is expected to pen the script.
Loki Season 2 premieres on Disney+ in Early 2023, and all episodes of Loki Season 1 are now streaming, only on Disney+.
